Morning folks
Just a few line to let you know of the work done in July & other news/reminder:
1. We had 2 work sessions on the Stour below Haywards Bridge, the first one we cleared about 12 good swims, second one cleared a few fallen tree branches (big ones) & strimmed a few. Didn't have a machine to shift some bigger stuff but hopefully will on Thursday 7th August. Not asking for volunteers this time except those who have kindly assisted on the last 2, if available fellas.. please WhatsApp me. (unable to show photos for some reason but they can be viewed here: HERE ).
Also completed the essential repairs to peg 5 at Luckfield recently, thanks to our old chairman Mark Sims & our retired 'bizzy' Treasurer, Jerry Bracey (I supervised) . Still a bit to do there & some other work... therefore, because its normally a quiet day, we will again close the lake this Friday 1st August for safety reasons, we apologise for any inconvenience but it is for your benefit 'of coarse'.
Finally, just a polite reminder about the rule on ALL our waters that 'FIRES ARE NOT PERMITTED' Even if they are off the ground or in a barrel. Yes, you may see remnants of previous burns but these are almost definitely the remains of 'controlled' burns from the winter months. If you do spot smoke/fire, please check it out safely & if no one is present PLEASE REPORT IT.
Now the summer holidays are here, you may find our venues are busier than normal. Parking may be an issue, please don't block any gates or access to adjacent properties, if there isn't space, pleas e try a different venue.
Enjoy your summer, whether it be on holiday or sat on the bank on one of glorious waters (especially the river banks). See you out there (with the correct gear.. hint, hint!).
