Hello Fellow Anglers
Firstly: Thank you to those who have already applied for membership for our 2025-26 year commencing on 1st June. We apologise for the minor issue with 'renewal' applicants, this has now been resolved. Anyone yet to re-join, please do so to ensure receipt of your card 'just' prior to the 1st June. Gate codes will be changed on the evening of the 31st May. Apply via Clubmate (preferred) HERE
FREE BREAKFAST: The annual weed cut at Kingcombe 'Lodge Lake' will take place on Friday 30th May. A full English B'fast will be provided to any willing volunteers who can assist us. The more the merrier & a better job done.. please reply directly to this email if you can give us a hand, details will be provided in a reply. Thank you.
NEW GUIDANCE: Due to the Carp now getting quite large in Luckfield Lake & Lucy's Pool, we have introduced new guidance for those who target them specifically: 1. A 'suitable for large carp' unhooking mat should be carried & a landing net of 36" minimum diameter should be used. From a date yet to be confirmed, the word 'should' above will be replaced with 'must', this is to give you time to get an early Xmas present ;). We will be checking & advising over the coming weeks. Thank you for your understanding..an example of the size of em now (this week):

UNUSED BAIT: Can we please ask that unwanted bait at the end of a session is not discarded on the bank, it just attracts vermin & that at the moment, you are careful in what floating baits you use, we have 4 new 'primary' members at Luckfield & we don't want them to choke on hard pellets/dog biscuits:

On the subject of 'primary' members, please remember that they are to be 'under Adult supervision' at all times on Society waters. 2 boys at around 9-10yrs old were fishing alone at Silverlake this week, please let this be the last occasion, thank you.
FINALLY: Please remember to check the match programme on the website before venturing out, nothing worse than turning up or being asked to pack up if the venue is closed for the day, please see it HERE & HERE (Juniors)
Again, Thank you for being part of 'The Friendly Society', it wouldn't be what it is without your subscription & voluntary efforts by some. Long may it continue.
See you on the bank sometime.
Steve, DDAS Sec'
