Hello Everyone

Firstly, we would like to welcome our new or returning members since our last update. We hope you’ve managed to wet a line during the warm holiday period & continue to during the months ahead. Thank you for joining us!
The main reason for this update is to ask for your help in ensuring our waters & residents (the fish!) remain healthy and safe to fish.  You will all be aware that the levels on some waters have dropped considerably during the summer months and will take a while to return to their usual levels. Therefore:

1. Please report immediately if you see fish ‘gasping’ on the surface (mouthing), this is an indication of lack of Oxygen in the water and could cause fatalities if not acted on quickly. This action is also requested if any dead fish are seen yet the reason isn’t known.
2. Because of the shallower margins, extreme care is to be taken when netting fish and should be done so as far from the bank as possible & please return the fish ASAP, again, using your net at length.

We have always said that if the water levels on each of our lakes reaches a specific low level (on average, per lake), we would close that lake until the levels recover. We are not at that stage anywhere at the moment and are hopeful that the change of weather will eliminate this requirement.
